Im looking to start one of the many programs available from Catalyst, but im a bit overwhelmed with the choices.
Id like a program that has some conditioning work as part of the program, so initially the 8-week General cycle appealed to me. Any suggestions? Risers, Waves, And Positions.
Doesn't have conditioning programmed in but it's pretty easy to do yourself, or keep your rest periods short with all those complexes and you won't really need it. I loved this program when I did it.
I just started the Week Traditiona l, partly because of the same reasons as you stated.

It isolates jerks as power jerks and various presses push, snatch, etc. Take note: the excel version doesn't include the conditioning, and some of the info is a bit off, compared to the web version.
Before you start, I'd suggest you make the necessary adjustments to the excel version to match the web version. I prefer using the spreadsheet, since it calculates your percentages for you; then I export as a pdf and put it on my phone.
I like the look of that one as well! My cleans are a good 25kg heavier than what I can jerk at the moment so I feel like id be missing out on heavy cleans, or id be trying to jerk too much weight.

Not sure how to get around this as most programs have clean and jerks together in some form. Has conditioning on TuTh, so if you really want you come up with something after on Sat which are generally just heavy singles and a squat. Focuses on volume on PP and Jerks. This was the first program i did. It seems like a pretty ideal program for beginners.

Don't stress about picking a program. Just get on one, stick to it, and you will see improvement. That way you can still challenge your clean without increasing the weight.
